September 2023
Mike started a new position at Merrimack Repertory Theatre. He is now the Lighting and Sound Supervisor. Mike is responsible for implementing the lighting and sound plots provided by the designers and ensuring that everything is ready for the start of the tech process. The work involves preparing paperwork, arranging rentals, hanging and setting up all equipment, creating cable runs and dimmer patches, and running focus calls. Mike supervises the department assistant as well as hires and oversees overhire calls.
September 2015
Mike started a new position as the Technical Theater Manager at The Rashi School. Rashi puts on 15 productions each school year. Each grade has theatre incorporated into their curriculum. The school also puts on two plays (3-5 and 6-8) in the fall, and two musicals (2-5 and 6-8) in the spring. Rashi is a member of the Massachusetts Educational Theatre Guild who participates in the Middle School Festival every year, hosting at Rashi every other year. For all of these productions, Mike is responsible for the lighting, sound, projections, and scenic elements. For many, he does the design, while for others he works with middle school students to design the show and then oversees and guides the students through the execution of the designs.
Mike is also responsible to running every event in the theater, including weekly services, speakers, and events. He works with a crew of middle school students who he has trained to run the sound and lighting systems for these events.
